The Electric Bike I Want
Imagine an electric bike going 100 miles per hour, with a reach of 100 miles between charges, and that looks as damn devilish as Ducati’s and Buell’s. Well, imagine no more – now it’s real. It’s called the Brammo Empulse, and the best way to sum it up is like this: I want one. Let me elaborate: I want one – now.
The Empulse will come in three models: with a 6.0 kilowatt-hour battery, a 8.0 kilowatt-hour battery, and a 10.0 kilowatt-hour battery. This kilowatt-hour rating is what determines how far the bike can go, before a recharge is needed, and it’s 60, 80, and 100 miles respectively.
The bike is 390 pounds, and just 50 horsepower. But don’t forget, this is an electric engine, with plenty of torque even at low rpm’s, so it’s crazier than it sounds.
According to the plan, the Empulse should be available in Best Buy stores sometime next year, for between $10.000 and $14.000, depending on the model.
